Automated Software Testing with a the best autoclicker.

By: Denis Safonov

Even if your program doesn't have many control items (buttons, menu items, settings), it's not a simple business to test them all after every fresh release. Sometimes, a programmer ignores this task, because he worked at new features and didn't modify the old ones, and they should work as they used to. This may produce fresh versions with unsteady main functions.

In this paper you will understand how to perform software testing with the the best autoclicker. You will only replay the Records you need to make sure that your program works correctly or to search for all bugs quickly.

Here AutoClickExtreme autoclicker will perform testing of Backup Expert (an extremely popular backup program). We'll test the main program function - back up of the given folder with size check of the come out archive.

To make the experiment pure, we are planning to pack one and the same folder - "D:\automated software testing\backup expert\test folder". First of all, we'll house this folder in the archive, and right before every test we'll uninstall the folder "D:\automated software testing\backup expert\test folder" and recover it from the archive. All the actions are not to be done manually, but with the help of elementary *bat file. We'll give it the title "start testing.bat".

rmdir /Q /S "D:\automated software testing\backup expert\test folder"
mkdir "D:\automated software testing\backup expert\test folder"
xcopy /S "D:\automated software testing\backup expert\arch\test folder" "D:\automated software testing\backup expert\test folder\"
start C:\"Program Files"\"Backup Expert"\BackupExpert.exe

In the Test folder there are approximately 100 files located in the primary folder and in it's subfolders. The overall size is 5 529 784 bytes. This very size should be seen in the packed folder features (unpacked size).

Now all is arranged for the autoclicker work. This program do press Record and right after that we stop it by pressing Shift two times to insert the above said *bat file (it should restore the initial test folder). Later we agree to start the application.

Later, in the autoclicker application we should press "Continue Record" and, using Pixel Conrol only, we record our clicks on Backup Expert (we should do all tasks suggested by the program's wizard to instruct the program what and where to pack). Just after bringing into being the job "Automated software testing", with the help of Pixel Control we are to record the task to lauch packing. In autoclicker table of events you must gain sight of Pixel Control bits.

Our last three actions are colored blue, because they were pasted after the primary Record had been made. All three actions are extremely valuable: event 45 - is to wait till the packing is completed by finding the message: "Status: Successful", action 46 - to run the out come archive, event 47 - should control the size. It must be equal to 5 529 784 bytes, because the test folder must be broght back and it's size must be the same.

The first test is completed. The estimated time to produce the Record is 20 minutes with all pauses for thinking. I needed 30 minutes more to make "start testing.bat" file, for the reason that I had to search for some of the features in Google. And it can take 10 minutes more to prepare the test folder. Thus , the first test can be done in an hour, this is not very prompt, at first thought, but now it will take only 17 seconds to make automated software testing of the main function with the autoclicker. However all the next following tests will surely take far less time. One can also make ready a Record for editing and packing of the optional files put in the test folder with the option "backup type = Differential (new and modified since last full backup)" + 100% result control. You can control packing of any most exotic cases. It's true that, AutoClickExtreme autoclicker may not at full stretch interchange alive (thoughtful) software testing, anyway it is sure to be your safe assistant.
